Representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Celon Pharma met to discuss the progress of the Reduzek project

This is strategic investment related to the development and production of GLP-1 semaglutide, used in the treatment of type II diabetes and obesity. During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current status of the project, the investment implementation schedule, and the financial cooperation concerning the construction and launch of the Celon Pharma Slovakia manufacturing facility in the Žilina region of Slovakia. The project constitutes one of the key elements of Celon Pharma’s strategy in the field of metabolic therapies and the development of in-house manufacturing capabilities for GLP-1 drugs.

In March 2026, Celon Pharma Slovakia, a subsidiary of Celon Pharma, signed a financing agreement with the EBRD for up to EUR 23 million. The funds are intended for the adaptation, equipment, and commissioning of a manufacturing facility dedicated to the production of the active pharmaceutical ingredient semaglutide GLP-1 under the trade name Reduzek. The financing has been divided into two tranches — up to EUR 18 million and up to EUR 5 million.

Celon Pharma indicates that the development of manufacturing infrastructure in the GLP-1 segment may, in the coming years, support the scaling of the group’s operations, revenue diversification, and expansion into international markets.
