Researchers from Celon Pharma S.A.’s R&D Centre publish their article in the prestigious European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry
At the end of May, the prestigious scientific journal European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry published an article of researchers from our R&D Division: Rafał Moszczyński-Petkowski, Jakub Majer, Małgorzata Borkowska, Łukasza Bojarski, Sylwia Janowska, Mikołaj Matłoka, Filip Stefaniak, Damian Smuga, Katarzyna Bazydło, Krzysztof Dubiel and Maciej Wieczorek.
The publication’s subject is: Synthesis and characteristics of two new classes of PDE10 inhibitors representing two chemical classes: benzimidazoles and imidazopyrimidines.
The publication itself presents results of the NoteszHD projects in the company since 2012. It shows the whole path leading to the creation of active and selective compounds, from the identification of the base structure through the use of bioinformatic techniques, chemical synthesis and finally the separation of compounds which currently undergo toxicological tests. They can potentially be used in the treatment of schizophrenia and Huntington's disease.
European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry is a peer-reviewed scientific journal publishing papers in the field of medical chemistry, with a high impact factor (4.816 in 2017).
